I understand that you want to use experience before PD. However, there is no much gain and makes it more complex.
For example, the person who does not start PD for 5 years on work can get only 6 months earlier preference.
My thoughts.
I gave more points to PD month than experience month.
If you think its more complexes then I will go with PD only.
New PD means either you are new in US or you dint applied or you got laid off. What ever is the reason of new PD, you or your luck are involved so only you should be responsible. My previous PD was Jul, 2003 with EB2 but INC canceled my company’s LC in group because my company didn’t apply from co-operate office and there was no one in office during INC raid. Later my company applied LC from co-operate office and I got new PD. Even though It would be unfair to talk about experience because some how my or me are involved here.

I totally agree - our concern should begin and end with whether our interests are addressed or not. This is not the time to argue and nitpick on what is good for the whole world in the long term - remember, there is no "long term" for us without a GC. Lets be realistic - its a done deal that EB reform if all it comes up, will come with either a generous H1-B increase or illegal alien amnesty or both of them. Its not our job to worry about excessive immigration - the anti-immigrants and their friendly congressmen are always there to raise a hue and cry and dilute any and all pro-immigrant proposals. With them at work, if we ask for a yard we will get a foot, if we ask for a foot we will end up with not even an inch.

It will be impossible to educate every ligislator. We have to do the best we can to voice our concerns and go with the tide. There is a 99% chance of a TV crew covering this event. I just spoke with them and they are just working out the logistics. They will reach the USCIS office at around 12 PM and said that it would be great if some of us are available around that time to talk to them.

Hello All,
Talked to my lawyer today about the checks; they have been encashed for myself and my spouse on 9/4. My RN starts with SRC.
My I-140 was approved from Texas and my AOS/485 was mailed on july 2nd and arrived on july 3rd to NSC.
Just a curious question for those you have already received their RN#. When checking the case status it displays "I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS "...will this message change when EAD has been approved and mailed?

No, I-485 and EAD have different receipt numbers and each case status is different.

Did you change your mailing address after you submitted your I-485?
Some time they correspond to your old mailing address even though you updated the address with USCIS.
Did you check with your Attorney? Is the correspondence address given is your mailing address or Lawyers? Some times Lawyers give their address for correspondence to USCIS.
These factors count where the approved mail goes to. I am sure you might have checked these before. If you over-looked these, then these may be the areas that you have to check on.
My 2 cents.

I have changed employers on an H1B transfer. My previous employer had filed an I-485, I went through FP as well and it has been 180 days from the filing date. My new employer's lawyer had advised them that AC-21 need not be filed until visa numbers become current. Is that correct? What if I go to a consulate for H1B visa stamping and they ask me whether AC21 has been filed for the empployment visa? Please advise, I am quite confused.

I agree with you. No questions about it. I think there are two components on legal immigration alone:
1. People who are stuck in the queue for many years
2. Increase in visa numbers for future skilled workers
At minimum, number 1) above should be fixed out of fairness. We already went through the painful labor certification process. That's unrelated to market demand or not.
I agree, we haven't had a chance to put that clear message out there.
This myth has never been successfully countered in the media or any other PR or lobbying channel by the legal immigration crowd.
The standard line amounts to this:
We are highly skilled we are legal and we are stuck and dont deserve this.
This is not good PR. Nobody cares about this.. it will get us nowhere..
We need to have a standard message apart from all other humint crap..
1) legals cannot undercut US jobseekers because of strict labor laws. Employers are paying a premium in wages as well as legal fees to retain their legal alien workforce. IT would be foolhardy of them to go through the hassle if local talent was easily available.
2) legals are in most cases paying taxes for which they may never realize the benifits like social security.
We need to let it be known in a firm polite manner that
1) we are giving more than we are getting and are not free loaders
2) we are not harming or displacing anyone.
I dont think this can be perceived as tryng to distance ourselves from undocumented workers. There are rare moments when the media does focus on legal immigrants as a group lets make the most of it.

I got my FP done in Jan 2008 but we never got the FP for my wife. We put in a SR with USCIS customer service.
We did get a response about the delays, but it is taking more than 60 days to get a response.
It has been 5 months since that response came.
We called USCIS customer service and they suggested to go to the fingerprinting location, along with original I-485 receipt notice and the letter stating the delay and see if the IO would take the FP the same day.
Lets see ....

I called customer service yeasterday and the response is that they were processing June22 cases and they would get to July 2 in 2-3 weeks.
