Fill out the G-639 form and follow the instructions. Write a covering note clearly indicating the documents yu need and include information like lin numbers etc if available. get it notarized and mail it to the address in the instructions. yu recv a application recvd note within 20 buss days. this contains a number which you can use to track yur request. I am still waiting for my request to be completed since it has been placed on the complex track!

I am a july 2nd 2007 filer with notice date Aug 23rd 2007. In response to my SR, I received the following reply:
"...... There is not currently a visa available to you based upon your country of birth, your employment-based category and your priority date. Your I-485 application cannot be adjudicated until there is a visa available to you. Your case is therefore awaiting visa availability for your category and further review by an Adjudications Officer. ......."
Many people have said that the July 2nd filers cases have been pre-adjudicated.
However the SR response clearly says that my case will not be adjudicated untill visa # will be avalable.
Does anybody know what is meant by pre-adjudication ?

I beg to disagree - I think if you read between the lines it is quite clear that potential solutions are being discussed. A solution may be announced but NOT within the 24 hrs that we all are expecting. It may lead to a deadlock in which case the lawsuit would be one of our recourse.
I think we all got a little carried away by the 24HR time frame from Core.
Whats new about this news? We have been hearing this since Thursday evening.

Now a days I am seeing lots of questions asked by new members. If you have some mechanisms to show whether they have registered with valid data or fake data would help the other members who spend time in answering those questions.
I would request all the new members to contribute to our cause. Join monthly contribution of $20 and help yourselves. Thanks.
We get a lot of people with Alabama as the state. This is because it is the first state in the dropdown. People do not even bother to put their correct state when they create a free membership account. If we do not get correct email address we cannot communicate with you via emails. We also need your name and phone number so that we can call you. There have been times, when core team has called members to tell them about something important. We will sometimes point out on the forum if any poster has not given us full information. It may cause embarresment to some members who are frequently posting on the forums annonymously.

Yes, you can and you need to if you do not want to wait indefinitely. The federal courts routinely held that 2+ year delay in processing I-485 is unreasonable:

Okay - Good Luck! I hope that you get your GC and admit soon. Most probably, I am headed to a non-US program next year as I have waited too long for the elusive GC. :-)

thanks for your advice. It is still OK if due to GC screwup, I cannot attend rather than my GC comes through next year, and I fret over why I did not apply. of couse, this is a personal choice. But, this is how I have decided to face the situation. I know of people who have applied 3 times and gone through. Also, deferrals for genuine reasons are allowed by schools, though not all.
Also, MBA process is less stressful than say, applying to MS from India. Being in USA for last few years, we now know better about what is what.

I may be wrong on Q2 but on Q1 I am 100% certain that unless you file your 485 under the new fee structure ($1010), you will have to pay the new EAD fee each year when you renew your EAD.
New EAD is for 340$. So, what you are saying is, I pay 340$ now to apply and 340$ every year to renew? That'd suck big time.

I do feel that a flower campaign again will have the opposite effect. Once is a novelty and the media loved it, I think the second time you would be annoying people and so would do more harm than good to your cause.

That is so not true. Even though Dallas was faster than Philly, it only cleared labor for 2003 and earlier filers in 2005. Essentially Dallas mostly cleared only those cases in 2005 which were stuck at regional and not state level. My labor was cleared in late 2006.

I am in the same situation. I just got the tracking number from my lawyer for the fedex that he had sent on June 30 and he has sent it to Dallas . I live and work in California. I went through the Direct Filing press release and the USCIS link :

Yes, you can move to H4 and then to H1-B as long as that H1-B is filed within 12 months. Otherwise, your application will be subject to 65K cap limit
H4 can be filed onself, I have seen some of my friends do it. To file AOS once PD is current, it is essential that one be in H1-B status.

Cool, I learned something new today. I guess I knew the concept of the polarizer but had yet to learn all of the ins and outs. Thanks Josh.
Linear vs. Circular has mainly to do with whether it works with metering and autofocus sensors in modern cameras. Both polarizers rotate and function similarly (I'm not sure if there is any difference in the effect shown in the image, but I doubt it).
Anyway, an unevenly polarized sky happens not because the polarizer is not rotated properly / enough, but rather because the camera is not quite at a 90 degree angle to the sun; this uneven polarization becomes more noticeable with wide angle lenses (to a point, then as even wider lenses are used, the sky will get dark in the middle and lighter on the edges even right at 90 degrees from the sun).
