This is an excellent point. I would like to raise this up in next IV conference call.
Looks like this is a good idea. Even if FB2 is not current, USCIS might allow applying for 485 in such cases.
Maybe someone more knowledgable or from the core members can throw some light on this.

Hallo I am new to IV. B'cause I live in DC I will go and visit as many congres and senate or I will certainly visit their office workers. How do U want me to prepare to talk to these ppl? Waht papers do U want me to take along?

I applied 1st EAD renewal for myself and my wife in August 4th. Still waiting.
Service Center: TSC
Mailed Date: August 4th.
USCIS Recived: August 6th.
Notice Date: August 13th.
Online shows as USCIS received those on the August 12th. Still waiting on EAD approval.
We mailed the AP documents for our family along with the EAD apps. APs for my wife and son were approved on the August 17th. Still waiting on the approval of AP for me.
I suspect who was processing our cases had gone on a big vacation.

Start right now. I don't know how to enjoy holidays without any hope.
I don't understand all the issues (like EAD). In order to proceed, I am trying to understand (= validate + document) the
process and platform (senate/congress) on which retrogression will be addressed.

I called my attorney today to inquire about this and he told me that one-third to one-fourth of the applications that he has filed in July are yet to receive the FP notices and he asked me not to worry about it.
Hope he is true and that we will be getting the FP notices soon.
I will keep you all updated

Hi,
Can someone explain the process of using AC21 for self employment? I have searched the web without much luck. If someone can throw some light on this topic along with how to deal with issues that come up with AC21 and self employment I would really appreciate it.

Check out www.shusterman.com and it has a section on AC 21 180 day portability. There you will find all the USCIS memos regarding this topic (starting from 2001 to 2003 and the 2 memos in 2005). The last memo from December 2005 addresses the issue and the way I understand it, it means you can have self employment while waiting for the final approval. But you still have to have an employer at the time of final approval of I 485 in the job category mentioned in LC and I 140.

Filed two EAD renewals to TSC: one on 07/06/08, another on 07/14/08.
Both included only the documents required by the filing instruction, nothing besides.
The first one was accepted, ND 8 Jul, the second returned with a request for a copy of I-485.
Added and re-sent again- no receipt yet.

My GC was approved on Aug.19, 2008 and received my Physical card on Aug. 22, 2008 :):). I am wondering what to do with the I 94 , which I received after my last re-entry to USA in 2006 using AP. Any info.

SORRY Fellas, I cannot send this out unless the provision for H1b nenewal be added to it. I know IVs main concern is reg the backlogged GC cases, however, I would request that future of the H1b should also be addresed. I now feel that even contributing to the IV was a mistake because you are not taking a broader view of this issue. Please try to include the clauses affecting H1bs also in your letters. Particularly simple technical aspects like renewing H1b beyond the 6 years period is a MUST and one of the things that can be MOST easily achieved if asked for.

But as suggested by IV members, please do consider a visit to india and take second opinion from the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, its one of the best cancer treament centre in the world.
US Healthcare system is for Profit, some medical facilities in US are exception, but if you see the overall Healthcare system it sucks and its all driven by insurance and big Pharmaceutical companies.
Please send me the private e-mail if you need any help in Mumbai to reach good doctor in Tata Memorial Hospital.

Your Welcome Notice serves as your approval notice. There are only two envelopes that one gets and you got both (Welcome Notice and Cards envelopes)
